Senegal national coach Aliou Cissé revealed his 23-man squad on Thursday, May 17th.
“The choice we have made today hasn’t been easy “ said Coach Cisse “because the team is full of talented and committed players .Unfortunately all the good players we have in the country cannot fit in just a 23 man-squad “ He added, concluding that he had to make a decision and this has been done with impartiality.
The publication of this list comes four days after the Coached revealed the shortlist of 35 players required by FIFA.
Senegal, like all thirty-two teams qualified to the world will have to submit his 23 man squad final list to FIFA by June 4.
Here is the list :
Goal keepers: Abdoulaye Diallo, Khadim Ndiaye, Alfred Gomis
Defenders: Kalidou Koulibaly, Lamine Gassama, Moussa Wague, Youssouph Sabaly, Salif Sané, Kara Mbodj, Cheikhou Kouyate, Saliou Ciss
Midfielders: Idrissa Gana Gueye, Sheikh Ndoye, Pope Alioune Ndiaye, Alfred Ndiaye,
Strikers : Moussa Sow, Moussa Konate, Diaffra Sakho, Ismaïla Sarr, Diao Baldé Keïta, Sadio Mané, Mbaye Niang, Mame Biram Diouf.
Meanwhile Coach Cisse has also unveiled standby list including Fallou Diagne, Henri Saivet, Famara Diedhiou and Adama Mbengue.
