The Grand Yoff Mermaids had to undergo the penalty shootouts to win the title of the national championship. They challenged the Saint Louis Ameth Fall High School team who had played well without being able to finalize the goal opportunities.
The penalty shootouts had also been twice in favor of Saint- Louis girls but they finally lost 4 – 3. The Mermaids thus end a three year unsuccessful fight for the trophy that was kept by Ameth Fall school (2015 and 2016) and Mediour from Rufisque (2017).
The final of the National championship level 2 between JA FASS and Koumaré of Sedhiou did not finally Take place. SONACOS had brought reservations against JA FASS who eliminated them in the semifinals, and the referees’ decision that is in favor of SONACOS was unfolded only on the eve of the match.
