ASC Gazelle of Kedougou and Kaolack FC draw 1-1 at the inaugural match of Natinal 2 championship

The city of Kedougou was this weekend the capital of amateur football. It hosted the fisrt match of the national2 championship, ASC Gazelle of Kédougou  vs Kaolack FC.

These two teams coming respectively from the regional championship and the national1 championship showed to football lovers that it was worth coming to Mamba Guira sy Stadium.

In the first half the host team was very challenging but failed to score goals. It was only at the beginning of the second half they broke the dead lock with a penalty.

The kaolak team tried hard to equalise  and finally succeeded thanks to a penalty the host team conceded five minutes before regular time.

The score will not change until the end of the match, to the satisfaction of the visiting team.

The coach of host team ASC Gaselle de Kedougou   Papis Cissoko accepted  result even if he admits that his team should logically have won the match.

On the occasion of the launch of the Natinal2 championship, a meeting was held on Sunday morning  gathering the leagues of Tambacounda and Kedougou and members of the amateur football league board of directors as well as  members of the executive committee of the FSF led by President Abdoulaye Sow.

The purpose of this meeting was to share all the information and experiences of the past season, in order to come up with an action plan that could further develop Amateur football.

A successful exercise according to Clavidino Mendez, President of Kedougou league who first welcomed the choice of his region for the launch of the championship.

« It is a great pride for us today to receive officials from the Senegalese Football Federation, » said the head of Kédougou football . « We thank the federation for having increased our subsidies but we  still have problems of means in this landlocked region of Tambacounda » he added, inviting the administrative authorities to involve the various mining companies that are operating in the region in the financing of football.
