CAN U20: Senegal sports Minister hands over the national flag to the U20 team

Senegal’s Sports Minister Matar Ba on Tuesday handed the national flag to the U20 squad that is part taking to the 2019 African Cup of Nations from 2 February to 17february.The head of Senegalese sports,  first reminded the team that the numerous   football fans in Africa are expecting them to perform well because they are among the best teams on the continent(twice finalist at the African Cup of Nations(2015 and 2017) and , semi-finalist at the World Cup in 2015.The Minister of Sports further congratulated President Augustin Senghor « for the huge work he has been doing at the head of the Senegalese football federation » and this work according to him is the result of the progress noted in football in recent years.As for President Augustin Senghor, he admitted that it is good to qualify for the CAN, but on top of this , the next stage must be winning the cup .The president of the football leading body in Senegal believes that the exceptional generation of football players can meet that challenge. He invites the squad to do their best during the tournament for the satisfaction of millions of Senegalese who are supporting them. »Regarding bonuses,each player received yesterday an amount of six hundred thousand CFA francs, if the team reach the semi finals they will have a 1 million CFA Franc bonus, and if they qualify for the final, there will be a motivation bonus of one million five hundred thousand CFA Francs  » said Mr.Augustin Senghor, adding that if the team win the trophy, It will be up to  the head of state, President Sall  to determine the reward,  but what is clear is that will be a very interesting  reward.

For its fifth participation in the U20 Africa Cup of Nations, Senegal is in Group B along with Mali, Ghana and Burkina Faso.
